Charles Timmons About 03

A little
about me

Portrait of Charles Timmons

I work in cybersecurity, but I’m just as interested in the human questions around technology: how it changes our lives, who it serves, and how we can use it more thoughtfully.

I’m based in Seattle, Washington.

I got into tech partly to calm my own nerves about how much of daily life was moving online. I wanted to understand the systems becoming part of everything. Somewhere along the way, that personal curiosity became a career—and a broader interest in technology, ethics, leadership, and helping people feel more capable in a complicated digital world.

I’ve come to believe that the best way to vanquish a fear is to understand it. I’m curious, candid, and thoughtful by nature, and I’d rather ask a difficult question than settle for an easy answer.

You’ll often find me at my desk with a strategy game on screen, a cat in my lap, and a pot of tea steeping nearby.

Away from technology, I enjoy studying language, playing chess, exploring history, traveling, and cooking. I’m drawn to things that help me see the world from another angle—whether that’s learning how another language expresses an idea, getting lost in a historical question, or trying to recreate a memorable meal.
